Title:  Environmental Manager-Midstream

The Opportunity

As a Environmental Manager-Midstream at Par Pacific Holdings, you will lead our efforts to ensure environmental compliance and sustainability across our pipeline, terminals, marine and rail operations within the organization. You will be responsible for developing and implementing environmental programs, monitoring regulatory compliance, conducting environmental assessments, overseeing remediation projects, and collaborating with stakeholders to minimize our environmental footprint while maintaining operational excellence. You will also be responsible to report up to stakeholders and management on current and future compliance initiatives and incentives.

Key activities include

 

Environmental Compliance:

  • Serve as the information source for the Par Logistics organization on federal, state, and local environmental regulations relevant to pipeline, terminal, marine, and rail operations
  • Develop and maintain environmental compliance programs, and policies
  • Ensure all operations adhere to environmental permits and regulatory requirements
  • Train local operators on new and revised compliance requirements across logistics operations

 

Environmental Assessments:

  • Conduct environmental assessments and audits at company facilities to identify potential risks, impacts, and compliance issues
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement corrective action plans

 

Sustainability Initiatives:

  • Develop and execute sustainability programs and initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of our operations while enhancing existing protocols to improve sustainability across the organization
  • Identify opportunities for energy conservation, waste reduction, and resource efficiency, creating cooperative atmosphere with agency partners

 

  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with regulatory agencies, environmental organizations, and local communities through developing cooperatives, and joint ventures
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to bring forth environmental concerns and develop best management practices with them fostering a cooperative and positive company image

 

Environmental Reporting:

  • Prepare and submit environmental reports and documentation required by regulatory agencies
  • Maintain correct records, and review field data to create accurate environmental data and compliance reports

 

Training and Awareness:

  • Provide environmental training and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and site personnel
  • Promote a culture of environmental responsibility and compliance through various media and resources

 

Emergency Response Planning:

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of environmental emergency response plans and training
  • Participate in drills and exercises to ensure preparedness for environmental incidents creating assurance to agencies and stakeholders

 

Budget Management:

  • Assist in the development and management of the environmental budget for the region showing the value of our accountability and responsibility
  • Ensure cost-effective allocation of resources for environmental programs and initiatives, by developing ongoing continual improvement incentives

Qualifications

To meet the basic qualifications for employment, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

 

Qualifications for this role:  

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field; directly related experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Professional certifications in environmental management (e.g., CEP, REM, CHMM) preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental leadership roles, with experience in pipeline, terminal, marine and rail operations highly desirable
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, standards, and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency, or quick study in environmental monitoring and reporting software
  • Willingness to travel within the region to develop and promote this program ensuring compliance at all levels as needed
