Title:  Business Warehouse/Business Intelligence Reporting Analyst

The Role 

Reporting to IT Senior Manager – Analytics, Trading, and Master Data, you will join a team that also includes a Senior Application Developer, a BI Analyst, and Master Data Supervisor. As a member of the team, you will use technical and business knowledge to aid in the analysis, reporting and presentation of key performance indicators to support the retail business operations across the company.


As the BW function evolves, you will become a key point of contact for users, including gathering input, recommending solutions and managing expectations. The role will involve developing tools, creating and running reports, and more.


You also will also partner with various stakeholders on ways to best support self-service analytics that aid in business decision support. This will include using data to aid in solving business problems and analyze metrics around specific reporting structures for various projects and teams. You'll also work with in-house and consulting SMEs to create and maintain the business intelligence data sources, as well as various dashboards and ad hoc analysis and reporting.


More specifically, you will:


  • Partner with the Retail organization to set pricing strategies and determine optimal pricing on daily basis
  • Develop insightful reporting by performing analysis and provide "what if" scenarios and other financial modeling for Retail margin
  • Support price capture and margin performance reviews by Business Units, by region, and by zone
  • Lead pricing strategy discussions and pricing reviews with zone leadership
  • Research market, industry, company trends that affect pricing considerations and make recommendations for change or action based on insights and findings
  • Coordinate across the pricing organization to maintain pricing integrity across like products
  • Provide field-based training on new pricing tools
  • Leverage Par technology and process knowledge to define and lead projects that improve our performance
  • Partner with business leads to fulfill analytic and reporting requests as the domain data resource reference; you'll assist in creating and supporting a self-service style analytics platform among stakeholders
  • Enhance our capability to analyze and "make sense" of large sets of data and translate findings in a visually appealing manner that tell a story and help Par make better data-driven decisions
  • Work with business partners to define and track KPIs and benchmarks, and aid in identifying and measuring successful and failing strategies
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and continue maintaining awareness and applicability of new and emerging BI tools and processes

The Requirements 

To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the BW / BI Reporting Analyst opportunity, you will have:


  • A bachelor's degree, preferably with a concentration in statistics, data science, mathematics, finance, accounting, computer science, or engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in a business environment responsible for analysis and reporting
  • Familiar with retail business, preferably Gas Stations and Convenience Stores
  • A proven ability to use data, analytics, and business knowledge to solve business problems, including:
  • Ability to model and transform data into usable metrics
  • Experience with data transfer, profiling, cleansing and consolidation
  • Intermediate skills in Power BI or similar software
    • Experience building and defining reports
  • Advanced SQL and Excel knowledge
  • Experience with statistical tools and predictive analytics is highly desirable
