Senior Manager, Treasury & Capital Markets

 

The Opportunity 

  • Senior Manager, Treasury & Capital Markets at a growth-oriented energy company
  • Play a key role in managing the company’s liquidity, banking relationships, and capital structure in support of a dynamic and growing energy platform.
  • Take ownership of core treasury functions while contributing to broader financing and capital allocation decisions.
  • This role is ideal for a treasury professional with experience in energy or commodities who is looking to expand their experience in capital markets, strategic liquidity management, and cross-functional leadership.
  • Reporting to the Treasurer, this role offers significant visibility to senior leadership, including the VP of Finance and CFO, and direct interaction with external banking partners.

 

Key activities include: 

Treasury & Liquidity Management

  • Own short- and long-term liquidity planning, including cash forecasting and funding strategy
  • Optimize cash positioning and working capital across the organization
  • Lead management of banking relationships, including service optimization and negotiation
  • Oversee compliance with debt agreements and support ongoing lender reporting

 

Credit & Risk Oversight

  • Oversee counterparty credit risk framework, including exposure monitoring and mitigation strategies
  • Guide credit decisions and policies in support of commercial activities
  • Monitor market and industry risks impacting counterparties and liquidity

 

Capital Markets & Financing

  • In collaboration with the Manager, Corporate Finance support the management of the company’s capital structure, including debt facilities and financing activities
  • Partner with the Treasurer and senior leadership on financing strategy and execution
  • Maintain relationships with lenders and financial counterparties
  • Assist in evaluating financing alternatives to support growth and strategic initiatives

 

Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Lead and develop a small team across treasury and credit functions
  • Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and operational efficiencies
  • Partner cross-functionally with legal, accounting, FP&A, and commercial teams

Qualifications

To meet the basic qualifications for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

 

 

Additional qualifications include:   

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field required; MBA or CFA preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of experience across treasury, capital markets, credit risk, or related functions required
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams, including direct management of personnel required
  • Demonstrated experience in liquidity management, banking relationships, and debt or financing activities required
  • Prior exposure to credit risk, counterparty analysis, or trade finance required
  • Experience in energy, commodities, or a trading-oriented environment strongly preferred
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems required
  • Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and take ownership of key financial processes preferred
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior leadership and external partners preferred
