Title:  Sr. Infrastructure & Operations Specialist

  • Reporting to the Director, IT Infrastructure, you will be responsible for playing a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our technological infrastructure, analyze infrastructure needs and provide technology solutions to meet business requirements.

 

Key activities include: 

  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows-based servers to ensure optimal performance and availability
  • Monitor server health, ensure uptime, and troubleshoot server issues, both hardware and software related
  • Support, manage, and troubleshoot virtualization environments, perform routine maintenance, updates, and patches for virtual machines, monitor and optimize virtualization performance, ensuring high availability and scalability
  • Perform system upgrades, and capacity planning, and ensure systems are current with the latest patches and security updates
  • Manage storage systems (SAN/NAS), ensure data integrity, backup, and disaster recovery solutions are in place
  • Monitor and optimize storage performance, including implementing storage expansion plans
  • Troubleshoot storage-related issues and coordinate with vendors for hardware replacements or upgrades
  • Perform daily management tasks, including deploying and monitoring virtual machines (VMs), ensuring proper resource allocation
  • Implement and manage patch management strategies for all servers, workstations to ensure all devices are compliant and help reduce the risk score
  • Ensure patches are applied timely to protect against security vulnerabilities, while ensuring minimal disruptions to business operations
  • Maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant team members
  • Plan and execute system upgrades, including applying patches and updates to ensure systems are running on the latest versions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and provide technical expertise.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, management, and end-users

Qualifications

To meet the basic qualifications for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

 

Additional qualifications include: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field required
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure technologies required
  • Proven experience as a System Administrator, with Proficiency in VMware, NetApp, and other virtualization or storage solutions required
  • Strong understanding of server patching, security best practices, and compliance standards required
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills required
  • Familiarity with Azure and AWS cloud platforms preferred
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Support mission-critical application support with 24X7 service level commitment required
  • Assist with technical projects and system migration efforts required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment required
  • Adjusting work schedule to accommodate unexpected changes preferred
