The Opportunity
- Environmental Coordinator (LDAR) at a growth-oriented downstream energy company
- Responsible for managing the Refinery and Logistics Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) programs to ensure compliance with federal and state environmental regulations and the Refinery’s Consent Decree.
- This role provides program ownership for LDAR monitoring, data management, reporting, audits, and coordination with Operations, Maintenance, and external contractors.
- The position supports operational reliability, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance across refinery and terminal operations.
- Reporting to the Environmental Supervisor, this role is responsible for supporting the Par West Facility and managing the Par East Refinery and Logistics Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) programs to ensure compliance with federal and state environmental regulations and the Refinery's Consent Decrees. Key activities include:
• Lead and manage Refinery and Logistics LDAR programs to ensure compliance with all regulatory and Consent Decree requirements.
• Coordinate Method 21 monitoring schedules, routes, and reporting for refinery and terminal operations.
• Oversee leak detection, Delay of Repair (DOR) justifications, repair tracking, and timely regulatory closure.
• Maintain accurate LDAR data, documentation, P&IDs, and component inventories within the LDAR database.
• Prepare and submit required environmental and compliance reports.
• Support cross-functional Management of Change (MOC) reviews and ensure new or modified components are properly integrated into the LDAR program.
• Coordinate maintenance and operations teams to ensure timely leak repairs and follow-up monitoring.
• Provide LDAR training, oversee contractors, maintain the Approved Manufacturer’s List (AML), and update related procedures and training materials.
• Lead internal and third-party LDAR audits, serve as primary audit contact, and manage corrective action plans.
• Conduct environmental inspections, monitoring, sampling, and wildlife compliance activities.
• Respond to equipment issues, alarms, stormwater events, spills, and other environmental or operational incidents.
• Perform additional duties and training support as assigned.

Qualifications

Additional qualifications include:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, engineering or a related technical field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 10-years of experience in manufacturing/maintenance type of environment. •
- Previous experience with environmental regulations desired.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the 24-hour Hazwoper certification under OSHA 1910.120
- Strong knowledge of refinery and logistic operations, environmental regulations and leak reporting software databases is essential.
- Proficient in MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
- Must possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License with acceptable Driver’s Abstract
- Must maintain a valid TWIC (Transportation Worker’s Identification Credentials

Hiring Range:
The hiring range for this position is $87,000 to $107,000 annual salary, plus discretionary bonus. The candidate selected will be placed according to his/her skills and qualifications.
