Title:  Environmental Engineer Intern

Are you looking for work experience in your field of study? This summer, you could work alongside experienced engineers at a growing energy company learning how to support safe and compliant operations.

 

The Opportunity 

  • Summer 2024 Environmental Engineer Internship at a growing energy company
  • 12-week internship, 40 hours/week, $25.00/hr

Responsibilities include: 

  • Assisting with various engineering tasks while developing professional, ethical, and technical skills
  • Assisting in preparing environmental calculations and drawing reviews (P&IDs, PFD, etc.)
  • Collecting and entering sample data, applying technical principles and theories for interpreting and analyzing data
  • Reviewing and checking reports and identifying any deficiencies
  • Assisting with field work and inspections (e.g., for stormwater, SPCC, LDAR, RCRA, etc.)
  • Participating in compliance training and refinery-wide safety efforts

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled student pursing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Geology or related field required
  • Must have at least junior or senior classification in a Bachelor’s degree program by the start of the internship
  • Minimum GPA 3.0 required
  • Previous work experience preferred
  • Involvement in extracurricular clubs and activities preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred
  • Availability to work on-site for a 12 week period beginning in May or June and concluding in August or September
  • Available to work 40 hours per week in one of the following schedules as required by the assigned work area:
    • Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day
    • 9/80 schedule with alternating 4 and 5 day work weeks, up to 9 hours worked per day
  • Ability to secure living arrangements on the island of Oahu for work in Kapolei (travel, room, or board are not provided)
  • Eligibility to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.
