Title:  Mechanic (Auto Mechanic)

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor you will be providing skill, expertise, and craft knowledge in the entire plant. As part of your specific responsibilities, in the following areas, you will: 

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain transportation vehicles and other motors or engines.
  • Troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance performed on passenger vehicles, pick-up trucks, golf cars, cranes, boom trucks, ATV’s, vacuum trucks, forklifts, aerial lifts, generators, portable compressors, and others as assigned. Motors and engines to repair and maintain may be gasoline or diesel, or electric.
  • Maintains all shop/assigned work area & equipment in a safe, orderly, clean, & good operating condition.
  • Promptly reports any unsafe or abnormal conditions to Supervisor on duty.
  • Attends emergency response classes, remains current in required training, & responds to refinery emergencies as required.
  • Properly and safely riggs equipment for lifting.
  • Installs and removes equipment as required for successful repair.
  • Responsible for compliance with all refineries environmental, health and safety standards (some examples could include hot/cold work permit, confined space entry, lockout/tagout, personal protection equipment, etc.)
  • Successfully learn and use refinery material procurement and job planning process and software in a timely manner.
  • Basic competency to enable regular use of computer programs such as SAP, Outlook, Excel, Word, Internet based applications and browsers, CBTs, and other programs used by the company.
  • Must be available and fit for duty to take call and work overtime as needed on holidays, weekends, and night.

The Requirements 

To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. To be a good fit for the Auto Mechanic opportunity, you will have: 

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable record required

• CDL B license preferred  

• One (1) or more years of verifiable and successful work experience as an auto or diesel mechanic preferred.

• Relevant and successfully completed collage/certification courses, ASE Certifications, prior work at a certified auto mechanic shop, and/or work at a refinery highly preferred.

Hiring Range: 

$31.01 - $37.50 per hour
