Electrician (Journey Level USW Maintenance A Classification)
The Opportunity
- Electrician at a growth-oriented energy company
- Be responsible for the maintenance of existing electrical, electrical-mechanical, and related equipment to ensure sufficient and proper working order.
- Be responsible for electrical basic theory, maintains electrical equipment in good operating condition to ensure accuracy and timely findings.
- Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing electrical maintenance services to ensure equipment and plant reliability
Key activities include:
- Identify, troubleshoot, and repair the wide variety of electrical equipment at the refinery.
- Be responsible for compliance with all refinery environmental, health and safety standards (e.g., hot work, cold work permit, confined space entry, lockout/tag out, personal protection equipment, etc.).
- Perform basic formulas and math required for the job.
- Understand how to use all test equipment (e.g., ammeter, voltage detectors, voltage testers, data loggers, etc.).
- Megger equipment and locate ground faults.
- Troubleshoot simple circuits.
- Install certified electrical equipment.
- Understand and work on 480V motor starters and circuit breakers.
- Maintain Motor Operated Valves.
- Maintain and troubleshoot MCC.
- Identify protection relay trip.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of NEC and Hazardous Area classifications.

Qualifications
To meet the basic qualifications for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. Additional qualifications include:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- Two-year certification or AA degree in electronics preferred
- Hold and maintain a General Journey Level Electrician (01) certificate required
- 2-5 years of work experience in the electronics industry field preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Frequent walking, standing, crouching, and climbing without limitations and respirator clearance required
- Must be able to reach overhead, squat, kneel, climb and grasp. Must be able to lift light, medium, and heavy objects
- Must have 20/40 vision or better, have depth perception, full field, and able to distinguish colors as required in order to weld and perform other duties
- While main duties involve electrical equipment, person may be requested to perform other duties, such as assisting in mechanical repairs, longshore/marine work, and other duties as required

Hiring Range:
The hourly rate for this position is $54.20/hour
