The Opportunity  

  • Temporary Maintenance Technician at a growth-oriented energy company.
  • Enjoy independent work, while providing overall day to day maintenance and repair to the retail branded stores, to ensure maximum operational performance.
  • The role provides hands-on experience with a range of systems and equipment in our fueling and convenience store stations, which can enhance technical skills and expertise.
  • Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Retail Environmental Construction and Facilities you will provide exemplary maintenance service to our nomnom stores.

 

Key activities include:  

  • Responds to work orders dispatched by our maintenance call center from store locations
  • Initial trouble-shoot equipment described in maintenance work order
  • Equipment operation
  • Preservation, general repair, and troubleshooting of building, building components, fueling areas, and property as determined necessary
  • Initial trouble-shoot equipment described in maintenance work order
  • General custodial and grounds keeping tasks
  • Repairs/replaces equipment’s components, as determined necessary
  • Assesses other issues as requested and reports back to Manager
  • Follow a preservation and preventative maintenance program to ensure scheduling and completion of future projects are completed in timely manner
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications 

To meet the basic qualifications for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

 

Additional qualifications include:  

Education

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Class A/B certified required (Company to provide training post-hire to obtain)
  • API WorkSafe Contractor Safety Program Certification required (may be obtained post-hire with Company support)
  • Gilbarco Dispenser Certification required (may be obtained post-hire with Company support)
  • Any certification in technical or mechanical training preferred

 

Experience

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive company-controlled vehicles required
  • Demonstrated painting skills, with experience in some or all the following areas, such as pressure washing, water reclaiming, boom truck operation, and hazardous material handling required
  • Demonstrated mechanical skills, with experience in some or all of the following areas, such as construction, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, food service equipment, point-of-sale equipment, and instrumentation/electronics/computers required
  • Experience in working in retail petroleum fueling stations preferred

 

Requirements

  • Ability to work various shifts as scheduled, and arrives on time
  • Ability to work with equipment, tools and materials as required
  • Basic skills on Microsoft office and Excel a plus
  • Ability to communicate in English (orally and in writing), including proficient telephone communication skills.
  • Ability to perform essential duties and work in the conditions as described 

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift.
  • Ability to lift items of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to climb ladders to work on rooftops.
  • Ability to see with 20/40 vision (corrective lenses acceptable) in order to see various information to ensure that equipment and grounds, such as gas pumps are in proper operation, and problems that may occur with gas pumps.
  • Ability to hear (hearing aids acceptable) to be able to communicate with internal and external individuals, and for safety purposes.
  • Frequent reaching overhead, gripping, wrist movement, and finger dexterity required to, but not limited to, checking/operating gas pumps, cleaning pumps/equipment, maintaining station facilities.
  • Frequent squatting and kneeling required.
  • Ability to push/pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds.
  • Ability to climb a ladder.

 

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work 40 hours per week plus necessary overtime.
  • Ability to respond to maintenance calls after-hours (evenings/weekends/holidays)
  • Constant awareness of Par Hawaii Retail’s safety and environmental policies and procedures for self and others.
  • Exposed to gas fumes and solvents, and occasional noise.
  • Non-smoking and drug-free environment.
  • Travel via company-controlled vehicle to all stores as required
